Sketch your plan before building a garage
Before building a garage, you will want to know how your new structure will fit in your property in relation to the property lines and the buildings in the area. A sketch of the area needs to be drawn to the appropriate scale for an idea of how things will look like.
This can be accomplished by using a measuring tape and getting the actual dimensions which will be used for the sketch of your garage building. You have to start from the markers at the corners of your property or lot and determine your total lot area by multiplying the width by the length of the property.
